WET TEST TECHNICIAN I – Oceanside, CA

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, operate pre-treatment equipment for preparation of testing of elements.  Set-up and shut down, and prepare material for production loading and unloading onto testing equipment. Maintain a required level of output. Keep accurate records and logs associated with production, quality, quantity and any other necessary record-keeping activities.  Work with seawater and non-seawater products.  Ensure all documentation accompanies product to final test stage. Work with pounds per square inch up to 200 (PSI). PLEASE NOTE: These are 3rd shift, 10:30pm-7am positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs one or more functions within the Pre-Treat area such as vacuum rinsing, flushing, chlorine treatment, pressure testing and processing product through other various pressurized procedures.
  2. Loads/unloads product from manufacturing transport equipment onto appropriate machine or production equipment.
  3. Maintains daily, weekly and monthly productivity goals set by production management, including clean-up, rework, core tube preparation or other production activities.
  4. Documents product data information such as serial number, defects, rejects, scrap etc. on production logs, reports or summaries as well as any other record keeping activities as they pertain to products throughout shift.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, perform moderately complex technician duties in operating membrane production equipment to produce flat sheets.  Operate one or more of the following machine with starting, stopping, feeding, tending or monitoring for proper standard operating procedures: cellular testing equipment; high-speed polycasting, high speed interfacial applicator (IFA); polysulfone or acid chloride mixers and solutions transfer equipment. Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of warehouse activities including issuing raw material, shipping and receiving and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records. Job Summary:

Under general supervision, manages the development of production employees, department safety, plant production including quality control, protection of equipment and cost controls. QUALITY ANALYST – Oceanside, CA


Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, facilitate process improvements within the organization and determine root cause product failure using data analysis and application of Advanced Quality Management and Statistical Process Control tools. Partner with material suppliers to establish and ensure quality specifications, investigate and resolve non-conformance issues. Calibrate process equipment to establish consistency and accuracy in specification adherence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Analyzes manufacturing processes, identifies opportunities for process improvements, scrap minimization and improved efficiency using Advanced Quality Management tools, including Statistical Process Controls (SPC).
  2. Communicates recommendations to management and partners with manufacturing to lead the implementation of those enhancements.
  3. Manages, analyzes and conducts various activities associated with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) undertakings within the organization
  4. Applies metrology principles and concepts to calibrate inspection, measuring and test equipment and ensure consistent and successful adherence to manufacturing equipment specifications for product conformity.

  6. Intermediate ability to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts and read/interpret geometric tolerances with basic ability to use the metric system.
  7. Strong ability to apply critical thinking skills and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  8. Strong data entry skills with a high-degree of accuracy as well as advanced organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills to work within and across a functional matrix organization and the ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment and work independently.
  10. Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) applications including JD Edwards.

Education and/or Experience:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree Mechanical Engineering, Quality Control and/or Business Administration; and 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Experience with ISO 9001 certification.

Certificates and/or Licenses:

  1. American Society of Quality Certification (ASQC), a plus.
  2. Six-Sigma Certification, a plus;

Physical Demands and Work Environment: (Typical physical demands and the work environment characteristics an employee must meet and encounter while performing the essential functions of the job.   1. Position requires occasional sitting (up to 3 hours) and frequent standing and walking (up to 6 hours) of the shift.
  2. Must be able to twist, bend, squat, kneel, and crawl occasionally (up to 3 hours).
  3. Requires grasping of less than 50 pounds and use of fine motor skills.
  4. Occasional reaching, wrist and hand grasping of membrane leaves, calibration tools or metrology tools is required.
  5. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally (app. 5% to 10% of the shift shoulder length lifting is required) throughout the shift.
  6. Must be able to occasionally lift items overhead up to 25 pounds
  7. Close vision is required frequently to adjust material, view small figures and identify defects during calibration process.
  8. Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) is required regularly to identify potential hazards during inspection or raw material audit process.
  9. Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) is required frequently to identify changes for quality control as well as see different color tapes to identify product types.
  10. Depth vision (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships) is required on a frequent basis during autopsy process of returned product.
  11. Must be physically present at the facility and must have regular attendance.
  12. Must be able to travel to Ocean Ranch facility periodically for assistance with inventory.
  13. Ability to occasionally push/pull carts loaded with elements.
  14. Must possess a valid driver’s license and remain qualified as a Driver under the Hydranautics Driver Policy. Must be able to get certified as a forklift driver and may drive a forklift occasionally.
  15. May encounter noise levels of over 85 decibels. Varying temperatures, fumes, and chemicals or hazardous materials while using personal protective equipment when required.
  16. Must be qualified within the respiratory protection program to occasionally wear a respirator.
  17. Must be able to occasionally work outside.
  18. Must be able to work overtime hours per the demands of the business.
