EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN III – Oceanside, CA

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, performs moderately complex maintenance related to operations, machinery equipment and automation systems like PLC programming. Incumbents perform major building electrical, construction and security equipment maintenance and repairs. Provides input to proposed manufacturing equipment. Modifies, rebuilds and installs capital equipment. Works flexible, alternate shifts: including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary. Primary Shift is: 8pm-6:40am, Thursday-Sunday.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Checks the operation of machines and trouble-shoots electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, equipment and automation problems.
2. Performs complex preventative and predictive maintenance on machines and equipment using various tools and equipment.
3. Trouble-shoots electrical and electronic controls on manufacturing equipment for rebuilding, repairing or fabricating purposes.
4. Diagnoses and resolves PLC issues using ladder logic and text based logic programs and familiarity with robotics.
5. Modifies and rebuilds manufacturing equipment to meet new machine requirements or production demands with engineering support. Provides input to proposed manufacturing equipment. Installs capital equipment.
6. Performs major building electrical, construction and security equipment maintenance and repairs. May perform machinist duties.
7. Understands and interprets electronic schematics for trouble-shooting electronic equipment with minimal assistance.
8. Maintains work orders on a daily and weekly basis. Documents all machine preventative, predictive and/or maintenance repairs clearly and concisely for historical and future maintenance purposes.
9. Continues education and/or training by taking a class related to maintenance technicians’ job on a continuous basis.
10. Follow safety regulations and adhering to OSHA and Cal OSHA standards. Operates Forklifts, Genie Booms and Scissor lifts.
11. Familiarity with electronic circuit boards/control panels which control the automation of manufacturing equipment.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Advance knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic processes and repair methods/techniques.
2. Must understand PLC ladder logic and text based logic programs within control systems for manufacturing equipment.
3. Intermediate to advance skills in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics and/or blueprints as well as technical product specifications to understand and identify standard manufacturing parts. In addition must be able to read safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
4. Ability to train others in the maintenance of machines and continuous learning and application of maintenance techniques/methods.
5. Organize and prioritize work orders while meeting deadlines to minimize production downtime with a high-level of accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
6. Ability to deal with problems/issues involving some variation in standardized situations.
7. Work under direct supervision and independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team.
8. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to execute e-mails, word documents and open power point presentations and use Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Systems.

Education and/or Experience:
1. High School Diploma and 5 years’ experience in an automation environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience that together with experience and training, enables the applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge and experience.
2. Electromechanical (required), PLC Tech. (a plus), Forklift, Genie Boom & Scissor Lift (recertified w/Hydranautics)

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER – Oceanside, CA

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, identify, develop and implement programs and projects for improvement in equipment, system safety, reliability, efficiency and control through application of sound mechanical and process engineering. Provide technical guidance for the design, installation, repair, or modification of existing and new production equipment systems. Act as Project Manager and subject matter expert for equipment system projects from mid-size to large improvements up to $ 2,500M or more. Provide leadership and guidance to less-experienced technical staff or other personnel.

Essential duties and/or Responsibilities:

1.Manages complex engineering projects, overseeing development, design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of new mechanical and process equipment systems.
2. Expedites equipment installation, start-up and validation activities to ensure manufacturing and process equipment is installed and fully operational in accordance with design requirements and specifications.
3. Ensures assigned projects and documentation are completed in accordance with the company Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
4. Specifies system components or direct modification of existing equipment to ensure conformance with mechanical and process operational and performance requirements.
5. Applies sound technical thinking to analyze mechanical and process system issues, using Statistical Process Control analytical techniques to develop solutions and modifications.
6. Collaborates with other stakeholders to identify, develop and complete continuous improvements to existing equipment and operations.
7. Provides technical support as needed in support of maintenance, quality and EHS partners.
